the whole "well I did it and now they are doing it too" blah blah blah. Okay..those people typically annoy the crap out of me.
Add to that the statement that Mimicking or copying is a form of flattery right?
Well, I'm going to temporarily whine about something. Feel free to flame me because I'm telling my own self to get over it BUTTT......
I finished my nursery and we worked really hard on it. I posted pics on facebook etc. My nephew's birthday (he will be 6) is next thursday and he wanted his room done in dinosaurs for his birthday. (even though he still sleeps with his mom). So she found dinosaur bedding in a patchwork pattern in the same colors as my nursery. no big. He likes it whatever.
But now she is awing putting his name on the wall in blue, offset shelves over the dresser in blue on metal supports, yellow basket accents, etc etc. She is mimicking all the little details of my nursery EXACTLY for her 6 yo son.
and I admit..it annoys me. And I feel stupid for letting it annoy me. And here I thought she was just really excited and interested when she was asking me exactly where I got stuff after I posted the pics....nope...she wanted to get them.
I'm just a little thankful that its dinosaurs and not construction stuff because then it would be WAY TOO similar..the details are annoying me enough.
Flame away.
For reference if you aren't on FB.

I find it interesting that she didn't say anything to you before putting up pics. It's clear she wants people to think it was all her own inspiration, which is lame since you and she and anyone else who see's your son's room will know.
It would have been really cool if she had said "OMGosh this would be perfect for ____'s room, where did you get these items, I'm going to copy you."

The canvas artwork on the shelves is actually custom painted by Isha. She took pics from the bedding I chose online and did all that by hand! She's so fabulous.
The Prints on the wall were pics DH found online. He copied them, photoshopped them, and printed them out on our Epson Photo Printer and I matted and framed them. I think he originally found them on an Amazon search.
Thanks. I really am trying to view it as flattery. She has always loved my style...I just wish she had done at least different colors or something! LOL
