Anyone know how long you are supposed to use free and clear laundry detergent?

Im still using All free and clear to wash DD's clothes.  Does anyone know how long you are supposed to do this?  Is it the 1st year?  Longer?

TIA

  • Unless she has sensitive skin it's not necessary.

We only used it for a couple week. DD had no reactions, so I went back to our normal detergent because I hate that the free and clear stuff doesn't have a smell.

  • It's all we use for all our clothes and have for years.  I don't think there is a certain time limit, though.  It's just what we prefer.

  • hmmm, interesting.  I always thought you needed to use that or dreft or whatever for a while because all babies have sensative skin.  What do I know though.  I just remember the hospital telling me to use it but didnt say for how long.

  • I've used it my entire life and we'll continue to do so.  We're still not using dryer sheets for LO's clothes, but probably will start doing that soon.  I have sensitive skin so I've been extra careful with his laundry too.

  • I have sensitive skin, so we use it anyway.

  • As long as your LO doesn't seem to have sensitive skin (eczema, diaper rash if you change wipes, etc.), then it's probably okay. If you're concerned, you can wash one item with your regular laundry soap (and dryer sheet, if you want) and then have LO wear it to test for a reaction. That way you don't have to re-wash everything if there is a reaction.
