I paid for my NT scan with my FSA debit card, and in the FSA system, they denied the claim and asked for either 1) a detailed receipt with services provided and the exact amount or 2) EOB from your insurance showing services provided and amount.
I uploaded the receipt I got from Austin Perinatal when I was checking out. It had the services provided marked on the form and the total amount written on the bottom right. The claim was still denied.
I was looking at my EOBs from the insurance site, and the one for all these services is split up - the lab where the bloodwork was sent and Austin Perinatal. But when I add up the "Amount you may owe the provider", it came up $12 short of the total they charged.
So who do I need to go yell at? Austin Perinatal? Insurance? Or FSA card?
Re: FSA rejecting NT Scan claim
Ok. I'm wondering if I will get the same pushback for when I go for the anatomy scan in a couple weeks also at Austin Perinatal. I think I will call them in advance to see how much they will be charging and to ask about the amount they charged for the NT scan.
I thought FSAs were supposed to be helpful! :-P
