Favorite children's book: If You Give a Mouse A Cookie
Happy Friday!
When I was little I was OBSESSED with "Where the Sidewalk Ends"...that & "Little women"........
Not sure what my top 3 fav. books are anymore. I spend so much time reading textbooks that I never have time to read regular books! I've been working on one book for like 3 months and am like on chapter 11 still. lol. Can't wait till I finish school!
I used to keep a spreadsheet of everything I read, and I had a separate page in it of favorites. Like, a whole spreadsheet of them! Now you want me to pick 3?! off the top of my head, at his very second, in no particular order:
1) Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
2) Life by Keith Richards (Yup, I said it. Keef's autobio is one of my favorite books eva.)
3) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter Thompson
But, really, add to this pretty much anything by Dennis Lehane, Chuck Palahniuk, or Ian McEwan, too. I can't pick just one by any of them.
I really enjoy reading murder/mystery books. But 3 stand-out favorites are:
1. The Sabbathday River - by Jean Hanff Korelitz
2. 90 Minutes in Heaven - by Don Piper
3. The Catcher in the Rye - by J.D. Salinger (My first son is actually named Holden because of this book. Not such a good role model, but I just love the name.)

I agree. Shel Silverstein is awesome. I was always partial to 'A Light in the Attic'. The man was a genius.

I told DH that was one of my fav books when I was a kid and couldn't wait to read it to our baby and he doesn't think it is appropriate to read to a child. I read it when I was a child and I see nothing wrong with it. I loved that book and practically had it memorized!
