i need help with this one

DD is teething and has a cold so she is resisting her naps here and there this past week. Normally bed at 8pm wake at 8am with a 1 1/2-2hr nap around 1:30pm, But bedtime she totally screams,kicks and punches,physically fights me to get out of bed(we bed share) or wants to play in the bed but as soon as we leave the bedroom she stops. I have tried moving the bedtime earlier and later. Help,what on earth should i do? I've been just letting her go til she burns out and then carrying her to bed.

Also my ILS watched her last sat and couldnt get her to sleep,they played in the bed so maybe she now thinks she doesnt have to sleep?TIA

    Does she have a bedtime routine so she knows it's time to sleep?  Could include things like a bath, story, prayers, etc.  We always have the same routine every night (that we don't do during the day) so there's no doubt in Curly's mind that it's time to sleep.

    Any reason in particular why you aren't putting her in a crib yet?  Personally, that's what I'd try.  She might need some downtime by herself in order to fall asleep at this point.  Now that she's getting older and is "getting" the world, it might be too stimulating or distracting to have someone in bed with her.

    Have you thought about getting her a crib? I do agree that your sis in law may have triggered her to think she can play in the bed :)

    What have you tried to help with the cold and teething?  When DD has a cold we put a humidifier in DD's room and prop up the head of her crib with a few rolled up towels so that she can breath a little easier.  It is difficult to breath when congested if you are flat on your back.  For DD's teething pain we give her a little infant tylenol about 30 min before bed.  These things always worked for us.  Hope that helps!

    I have to agree with the crib thing. When we visit family or spend the night away from home H sleeps with us & all night he fights us & wiggles & wakes up constantly & screams. The instant we get him home & put him in his crib he sleeps like a log. I'm not sure what it is, but he just can't sleep with us.
