I have been losing weight really well on WW. My average is 2.1 lbs a week. My initial goal is to lose another 8lbs but my ultimate goal is to lose another 18lbs by mid-June.
Can I expect the same decrease in weight loss as I continue to drop weight or as I get smaller will the weight be more difficult to lose?
Will my average weekly weight loss decrease? I am just trying to help me set expectations around achievable goals. I don't want to be depressed because I stopped losing weight so quickly.
Tnx!
Re: NPR: (WW) Weight loss question
How many weeks have you been doing it? If only a few, your average will go down because the first few weeks, you typically lose more (water weight) so your average is skewed by those additional losses. If you have been on it a month and consistently 2.1 the last few weeks, I think you will stay there. When I went through a divorce, I gained *a LOT* of weight and lost it all with WW. My average was 1.7 a week and I maintained that even up until I only had a few to lose.
Amy,
When I was losing on WW (I'm lapsed Lifetime now), I remember I lost 4 lb the first week and 4 lb the 2nd. After that I averaged 1 lb per week -- some weeks only lost .25 lb and others lost 2. I lost 36 lb in 9 months (was my goal).
When I was within 10 lb of goal, I definitely slowed down. It took probably 8-10 weeks to get there.
