A few months ago, DH patched, for the fourth time, a huge HOLE in the wall in the stairwell to our basement. The dogs love to lay at the top of the stairs there - I think because they can be nosy while absorbing all the warmth wafting directly from the furnace and hot water heater.
All this time, DH has blamed our French mastiff, Chloe. I found a completely new hole on the other side of the stairwell, a guilty looking bulldog, and a mastiff with sheetrock dust all over her big mastiff butt. Now, if you're the one eating the drywall... chances are you don't get it on your butt -- right?

UGH! My boxers did that when they were puppies! It was pointless to even patch the huge holes because every time we did, they would eat another HUGE hole!
I feel your pain!

Wow! they really tore the wall up. Is the mastiff the one in your avatar? I love her puppy face.
I have cats. They just get tiny mud prints on things.
Yes, that's my Chloe, thank you!
This is the bulldog in question, Hank. He's a real love.
These are DH favorite.I'll get him one one of these days.
They are very quirky, but they are very attached to "their people." All he wants to do is be with us and our other dog all the time. A lot of the time when I am posting here, he's resting his head on my belly and pushing the laptop far away from me.
Hahaha!! He tried to frame the other dog but overlooked this key detail.
That wall was also just painted about 3.5 months ago!
One of my labs, the flour culprit actually, was doing this for a long time. She was eventually cured of it.
She ate the dry all around the socket and yanked out the live wires. I don't suggest curing Hank that way.
Not that this stuff has ever worked for me, but did you try bitter apple?
I've actually tried it when Hank went through the puppy "oh that furniture looks good enough to eat" phase. Turns out they LIKE it. I'd catch them LICKING THE BITTER APPLE OFF THE FURNITURE. What is wrong with my dogs???
mine too!!!
Ive heard capsacin. i bet it works.
Ooh, I will look into that.
This is really the worst thing he does now. When he was younger (he'll be 2 in June) he chewed one of our leather couches, the stools around the kitchen island, and also ate the wooden balusters at the top of the stairs on our second floor. Just when I thought he was growing out of it... his dirty little secret emerges again.
We got a bulldog because they *supposedly* sleep most of the time and we thought it'd be a good fit since we both work, but I thing ours has ADHD. At least she's growing out of it a bit.
We put a big plant in front of our drywall hole.
We had another bulldog who was way lazier. This guy? He's on crack. He's a maniac. We love him, but he's out of his mind. I am glad I am not the only one with an ADHD bulldog. DH is going to happy to know that. LOL
LOL how does she like the crate? Hank has one but he likes to cuddle with Chloe and she hasn't been in one since she was 9 weeks old (and she ate a hole in it).
She does pretty well in it. We acted like it was always there. Haha.
She did, however, chew an opening near the top (it's metal and completely see-through) and got the top lock open. She is apparently a contortionist because she got out through the top part! DH reinforced it and she hasn't been able to escape since.
