How long did your pp bleeding last?

For those ladies who had vaginal deliveries- how long did you have pp bleeding? DS will be 8 weeks on Sunday and I have never stopped. Ob knows about it as of 6 wk appt because it turned from brown back to red so they did a u/s and said it looked okay but gave me something to contract the cervix to lessen the bleeding. He knows it has continued to bleed after that but lighter. As of today it is still lighter than it was before but still red. I think if it is still going on Monday, I will call them back, but was just wondering if everyone else is done or if you are still going? (I am EBF- so it would be really odd if it was my first pp period)

Total pp bleed was 3 weeks, but that includes a week of spotting at the end. I then had my first period at 5 weeks out and it lasted a week. (I'm FF so I think that's why it happened so soon.)

I'd ask again, 8 weeks sounds like quite a while. Maybe they can start you on the mini pill or something to get it to stop???

I bled for about 4 weeks PP, started BCPs around the 7 week point and have been bleeding for over 2 weeks, since about day 12 of the pill. Ugh.

5 and a half weeks of real bleeding, then continued discharge for another week. After that I had what felt like my period and some very light spotting for a couple of days during week 7. I am EBF too.

5 weeks exactly. A little continued spotting, but only on TP.

Don't shoot me but mine was only about 2 weeks, including spotting. I find that it has been less and less with each pregnancy.

I stopped within 3weeks and had no spotting but I was bleeding pretty heavy the first week. I am pumping so that might be what helped.

Mine had almost tapered completely off at the beginning of this week (5wks pp) but now has turned to bright red and become heavier. I'm pretty sure that this is AF even though I am EBF too. The same exact thing happened with my first child at the same point, and my OB confirmed it was AF at my 6wk follow-up. I believe that last time around AF started coming monthly again after the bright red started, despite the fact that I continued to EBF. BUMMER.

i'm six weeks pp today and stopped earlier this week. from 3 weeks on though, it was fairly light...touch and go- depending on how much i was on my feet, etc. hopefully, for your sake, it will stop asap.

I've been curious about this too. I'm almost 8 weeks PP. My bleeding lasted till about 5 weeks PP, although it was very little for about 3.5 weeks of that time. Then I still had some discharge a couple of times with a tint of pink, but almost nothing. Then nothing for a week, and NOW I'm starting to spot again!! I'm EBFing, so I really don't think it's AF. Plus it doesn't feel like AF, but who knows!!?

Just called the dr back. They want me in on Monday to 'discuss my options'. They said even though I am EBF, it can be a period. They also asked me if I am opposed to taking bc pills, which I really would not like to do. Bc really really screwed up my cycles when I stopped taking then when we were trying to get pg. I didn't know if I was going to be able to get pg because I had 50+ day cycles and no ovulation for several cycles. Someone please tell me there is an option to stop this annoying never-ending bleeding without birth control pills (thus screwing my body up and starting the whole issue over again) before I invest half my wages in always pads??? Also- if this is now a period, does this mean I can finally stop wearing pads and go back to tampons? That would be glorious!!!

Mine lasted 8 weeks exactly. It was tapering off by week 4 but then got bright red and heavy at week 5, along w/ cramps and some pain. OB said it was probably my period. It lasted another 4 weeks. At my 8 week apt (no 6 week) it had finally stopped the day before, and when she examined me she said it probably wasn't my period after all.
