Netti Pot Round 2 (for DC or anyone else who cares)

I had a really f-ing miserable night because after doing it last night because it really stirred things up in there but I couldn't actually get rid of much.  All night blowing my nose with green, pus, blood.  Awesome. 

So I did it again this morning like you recommended (in retrospect I probably should have done it at 3AM but I didn't really feel like pouring water up my nose in the middle of the night).  I guess because stuff was already loose it was WAY more effective this time. I could breathe better than ever before in my life.  For about 50 minutes.  Now I am having a repeat of last night.  Maybe I should have brought it to work.

    Do you have saline spray?  I like to take that out and about when my nose is nasty.  Much more portable.

    No, I have never had good results with it, but the stuff I bought for Lila seems to be much better as it has a better "spray".  Maybe I should get some.  Maybe I should also call the doctor about the pus/blood.

    Yay for neti pot!  I second the saline spray.  They have one that can be continuous, it's not as great as the neti but it's better than nothing.

    I am pretty sure you should call the doctor.  Anytime I get green snot with pus and blood it means I have sinus infection that needs antibiotics. 

    Glad the netipot works for you.  It was evil to me.  I got horrible headaches every time I tried to use it.

    It sounds like you have what I had a month ago. I had so much snot/mucus in my nose and eventually in my throat that I was pretty sure I was going to die. I couldn't breathe through my nose for ~2 weeks, except for after I used the netti pot. The whole thing lasted ~3 weeks total. I was netti-ing 3-4 times a day - morning, after work, before bed, and sometimes at work too.

    I agree with this.  It sounds like things are pretty rough.  I'm happy the netti pot is helping though.  When I had a sinus infection this winter I bought one since I couldn't take too many meds and it really helped.

    I really think you might need more than that though.
