Finding an OB/GYN on the Main Line

My husband and I have lived in the area for only a year, and we're trying to find not only an OB/GYN but a family doctor as well. Perhaps even someone to perform in both functions. Any recommendations? Help please! I'm getting really frustrated with calling around. Thanks!

Re: Finding an OB/GYN on the Main Line

  • I live in SJ, but I work at Lankenau Hospital in the NICU. I work closely with alot of the OBs. The group I go to is wonderful! I just switched to them a yr before having DS, and I am so happy with them. There are 4 in the group, 2 women and 2 men. I see Michael Belden, but DS was delivered by Maggie Peden. I know like 15 people i work with that go to them and everyone loves them. You can check www.mainlinehealth.org  and there is a seach button for docs. HTH

  • I have seen Dr. Anthopolous in Paoli for years.  He is wonderful.  The group he is with is Russino, Chasney, Merlino and Anthopolous.  I have been very happy with the group so far.  I have not met Russino or Chasney yet, but Merlino was also wonderful.  Good Luck.
  • Another vote here for the McConnell, Peden, Belden and Finnegan practice at Lankeneau.  Belden and Peden are my favorites (Belden delivered DS and was awesome during the entire process), but all are excellent.

Lankenau has a great perinatology center, too, as well as a NICU (just in case...)

  • I use Great Valley Ob/Gyn and I really like them.  It's a practice of four women.  I delivered at Paoli, I think they also will deliver at Bryn Mawr and another hospital which I can't remember.  Good luck!

  • dr daphne goldberg.  she has a holistic approach and is amazing.  she helped me with my vbac, but she is private and doesn't take insurance.  it's boutique-style medicine where you pay a fee, but your appointments are like an hour long and you can ask as many questions as you want.  she is on call and available by email.  if you need to go to a specialist, she will go with you.  when you are in labor, she is there the entire time, not the resident or labor nurse.  its old fashion medicine with a modern approach.  wonderful, if you can afford it.

I agree with this post.  I really like them, too.  Very proactive, attentive, and kind.
