Does anyone know if the full body scanners are safe to go through while pregnant? We are traveling next week, and I can't find any conclusive answers googling.
TIA!

they're a form of xray, i believe, so you have whatever issues you would with a regular medical one. i'd opt for the pat-down, personally, even though it's so invasive.
I've gone through them about 6 times since I've been PR (I travel quite a bit for work). They are safe. They are such a low dose that its practically nothing. The fact is that you will get MUCH more radiation during the auctual flight. Research has been done on flight attendants and the rate of miscarage and it is slightly higher then the national rate but only in women who spend lots of time in the air (more then the avg flight attendant). So I don't worry abt it.

This exactly, I always wonder where this type of paranoia comes from
I wouldn't. 'they' say it's safe, but I don't really buy that. A pat-down, however unpleasant it may be, definitely doesn't pose any risk to baby so that is what I would opt for.

Do not do it!!!!!! Opt for the pat down.
I am an international flight attendant, and yes the TSA is saying it's safe but it is not. Pilots are already excused from going through it and flight attendants are next. Yes, you do get more radiation during the flight but why add to it?? Trust me we (as flight attendants) have been given a lot of material to read regarding the subject and nothing has said it is safe. Only TSA is reporting it is safe. Some airports have already stopped using them.
I wasn't even going through them while TTC. I'm not flying for work at all while I'm pregnant. It's not worth the risk, especially while you can get a pat down instead.

I opted for the pat down last week and, honestly, it was no big deal at all. I don't know why people freak out about it, the lady was very professional and it was totally fine.
Someone said they went through them while they were pregnant with #1??? These machines just came out in the last year. I'm referring to the new machines where you stand with your arms raised and it looks right through you, not the regular machines that check for metal.

Thanks Ladies! I might mention it to my doctor, but I have a feeling I know what she will say.
