The baby food site lists yogurt for 6-9 months. I have read that cows milk only be given after 1 yr of age. so whats the rule of thumb about yogurt?

We started yogurt this week.  Many people start it around 6 months.

I read somewhere that yogurt and cheese are ok before 1 yr old... I think it is because the way the milk is processed in these 2 type of foods babies can digest them with no problem...

I read it has to be whole fat, though -- not low fat.

I read that the fermentation process for yogurt breaks up the lactose, so there is less of it than in milk, therefore easier to digest.

We do yo baby yogurt with DD and have been doing it since 6 months. She loves it. Probably one of her favorite things to eat.

Yogurt and cheese are fine.  DS had had both and loves them.

Has anybody tried any of the YoBaby Yogurt flavors?  I bought banana to try with DS and now I'm wondering if I should have just bought plain...

Have you asked the pediatrician? Ours said to introduce it after 6 months (whole milk yogurt).

This. Also, I bought Goat Milk Yogurt at Trader Joe's today. This could be a better alternative for those who have true cow's milk intolerances. It tastes yummy too, has a creamier consistency.

I checked the sugar content on the yo-babies after getting those and ended up eating them myself :( It was pretty high.
