My son is 19 weeks old, so almost 5 months, and i am wondering if it's okay to give him mashed fruit such as bananas, peaches, pears, etc. I've been trying with the plain rice cereal and he just doesn't want to eat it. I know that he knows how because he watches me eat, he can sit up in the high chair, and he doesn't push the food out with his tongue anymore. I have mixed a little fresh mashed peaches into his cereal and he seems to like that. I'm just wanting to know if it's okay to give him the fruit alone or just keep adding it to the cereal. Thanks
Re: Mashed fresh fruit okay for 19 week old baby?
I think most fruits and veggies have to be cooked at this age. Bananas and Avocados you can definitely give raw but check out this website to make sure:

It's perfectly fine to give fruit alone, but most fruits and veggies need to be cooked first. It makes them easier to digest.
