TTC After a Loss

need opk and temp help please

I'm sorry to be such a newbie but I have a possibly dumb question....

Since my m/c the dr told me my first cycle would be out of whack and ovulation would be pushed back...ok...I expected that.  I'm almost positive I will be ovulating sometime soon because of my CM and break outs.  But, my temps are all over the place and my chart isn't looking like it supposed to look if I am indeed going to O in a few days.  So I decided to buy an OPK.  I didn't use any before because O was so clear-cut.  The line was just a tad ligther than the control line.  Does a lighter line mean anything, or is a negative a negative no matter what?  Also, any thoughts on why my temps seem so crazy and not matching the CM?? TIA, any help is appreciated during this aggrivating time.

  • It's still a negative. It has to be the same or darker. However, if you keep checking of the course of the next few days, you might find that they get pretty dark and then start getting lighter. Then you have a pretty good idea that you O'd.

  • I know they say you want the line to be as dark or darker than the control line but I know for me that once it gets almost as dark its a positive. I know this because I've used both an internet cheapie and one of the smiley face digitals at the exact same time to verify. My test lines never are darker than the control and usually just get almost as dark so I wanted to confirm it...

Also, your temps aren't going to do anything BEFORE you ovulate. You won't notice a change in temps until after O happens. You can have fertile CM in the days leading up to O. Do you have a link to your chart?

THe FF link is there...      I thought that temps typically drop after AF and stay low until ovulation, then shoot up after?  With this being said is why I'm so confused on why they are going back up when I'm starting to see some CM and O signs.  Please correct me if I"m wrong I'm here to learn! Thanks again!

Your temp will drop when AF comes and stay low until you O . But they can go up and down before you O ..you want to see a clear thermal shift and after you have 3 temps higher than all the rest you will get crosshairs..if you click my chart you can see a years worth of my charts

  • I don't think your temps look anything unusual. Not everyone will follow the same pattern and you won't always have the same pattern yourself from month to month. Your overall trend in temps did go down since AF. Usually the day before AF or the day of is when your temps go way down, it corresponds with the drop in progesterone. Sometimes they might stay a little higher during AF sometimes they won't...just so long as there is a clear shift in temperature between pre-O and post-O temps, that is all you're looking for.

As for CM, you've recorded C and S for the last few days, thats not fertile CM. You're looking for EWCM or watery leading up to O and the day of O typically.

Keep taking the OPKs, keep temping, and keep checking CM...I know its confusing and I'm not sure I'm helping any but it looks to me like O is still a few days away at best.

Good luck and hope i didn't confuse you even more!

  • OK thanks ladies!  I was expecting to see the temps way lower way earlier so I was starting to get a little frustrated.  I"m thinking O will be here soon and I'll just give it a few more days and see what happens.   I"m glad to hear y'all say everything looks OK.  I told myself I wasn't going to pay any mind to this cycle knowing it would be off track but you know how that goes....

  • the test has to be as dark as the control line...the problem with those tests is that i felt they were open to used interpretation. I would invest in the the smiling face digital tests...more clear cut!

    Good luck!
