Question about Moving

After LO gets here, there is a good chance I will be having to move to Hawaii with the rest of my family. Will LO's father be able to prevent me/make it difficult to move with my family? I will be going to court after the baby gets here, so everything will be in writing, but I was just curious as to how much of a problem the distance is going to be.

TIA

Re: Question about Moving

  • Are you currently married to the father of the baby?

If not you can move and file for everything in your new state of Hawaii.

If you are then you might have to wait till the baby is born and file in Alabama and have it part of the original visitation agreements that your new address is 123 i live in hawaii bishhes rd Hawaii paradise, HI .

Most of the time if you can prove you will be able to provide a stable living arrangement w/ family support the judges will let you go and just set up long distance visitation.

No, we weren't/aren't married, so this is good to know!

    Thanks
