s/o Pets, a PSA for First-Timers

Just wanted to share.  My Labradoodle who NEVER ate anything out of garbage or off of counters before DD was born, became a dirty diaper-holic after.  He broke into the diaper champ several times, tore apart a bag full of dirty diapers, flung them across the house, smeared poo all over the carpets.  He had a baby-poo party.  Now he will ALWAYS steal the garbage if we leave it out.

Just be careful... they change after babies come and it's not pretty!

  • Ick!

I -really- hope this is a dog-thing and not a cat-thing (since I have a cat and not a dog).

  • THIS will by my doodle. I totally see this happening and him trying to play poo patty-cake with me.

    Ugh....

When I had  a cocker spaniel growing up, she was really bad with taking feminine products out of the trash and hording them behind the couch....it was like a smelly bloody graveyard when we discovered it. Indifferent  With my niece she moved on to diapers.

  • Oh gosh, I so don't want to think about that mess!

PS- I have a labradoodle too!  Best dog ever! Smile

  • Indifferent My dogs are very nosy so this concerns me!! We will have to keep the door closed to where the diaper genie is.

  • Oh, boy. This made me laugh, but also made me nervous. My pup is very good, but every now and then she does something weird, so I wouldn't put it past her.

  • We got lucky with Artest. He left the diapers alone, but sadly went for all of the teddy bears eyes!

My dog is really weird about my, um, worn underwear. He steals it out of the laundry!  He doesn't even look twice at my DH's boxers though.

Ugh...thanks for reminding me. Doodle doesn't like any of his stuffed animals to have faces (specifically eyes), he rips them off immediately.

    Paranoid much?

I forgot that so many of us have doodles!

We have really been working on training Lexi not to take anything off the counters but if I turn my back for two seconds, she is into trouble. Luckily, she hasn't figured out how to get into the trash (it has a lid)... I plan to keep the diapers in a trash can with a pail liner. I thought about doing a wetbag but I worried that she might get into it.

We had a toy poodle growing up and she LOVED to eat bloody feminine products. Ick! I can't tell you how many times I had to clean up after she found a jackpot in the trashcan. So gross.
