What do we do??

My shower is April 30th, because we are only having one shower we ended up inviting 65 people...I know it's alot but it's both families and friends... and we kinda figured half maybe a little more would actually come. Well it's looking like close to 50 will be attending!! And apparently the place we are having it first said they could accomodate 50 people, now their saying ideally no more than 40!! Um...not good, I know I shouldn't be worrying about this but I can't help it, my mom's stressing out about it so I feel like I should help.

I'm thinking we might have to change the location, has anyone had to do this before? What do we do?!?!?!

First of all, breathe! You sound like you're freaking out. Now, I would suggest your mother go to the location and talk with a manager. She should ask for clarification. If you have 50 guests, can they comfortably accomodate all of them? Are there any options of rearranging the room that would make it easier to fit more? Etc. If they are unable or unwilling to accomodate 50, then it's time to look for another venue. And I'd tell your mother fight for any down payments back because they misled her about their capacity.

Totally agree! They should not of told her 50 if they really meant 40.

Was a contact or agreement of any sort signed? If so and you are having to pay for it and it said 50 and they don't want to accomodate all 50 then I would ask them to rearrange or whatever is needed if they will not I would ask for the deposit back.
