WFD?

Do you guys have any easy, healthy, kid friendly ideas?

MH will not be around for dinner.   I want to get the kids feed and go run off some steam (finally warmed up again) at the park before bedtime routine.   Any ideas?

No pizza, we are having that tomorrow at the school, its Prek/KG family movie night at DD's  school.

  • Frozen pizza & salad for us. It's t-ball practice night.

  • tacos is always my go to on nights like that.

You can make chicken tacos or veggieburger tacos if you want to take the taco to the next healthy level (although I prefer the good'ole 80% lean hamburg) :)

  • I have no idea. At this point, probably fish sticks and mac and cheese with some veggie. DH won't be back from his trip until 11ish, so it's just me and the kids.

I need to go grocery shopping, but I am holding out until the new fridge arrives tomorrow!

  • That's when we usually do breakfast for dinner or sandwiches and soup/salad.  DD loves deli turkey rolled up with cherry tomatoes and grapes.  You could even just pack a picnic lunch and take it to the park to eat to save some time.  We do that a lot when the weather is nice. Maybe a cold pasta salad would be good too.

  • How about eggs and pancakes? Fast and easy.

Vegtable soup sounds so good to me today, I just don't know if I am going to have enough time tonight.

  • I'm making homemade mac 'n cheese and bringing it to the neighbors' because then they are going to grill something to go with it.
  • Ugh. I hate trying to decide WFD.

I think we will probably have tacos. IDK.

  • We are doing sloppy joes with Bocca Burger - the kids can't tell the difference and its fast and easy - messy but easy!

  • Meatloaf sandwiches (leftovers), carrots, a salad

  • Rigatoni with spiced meat sauce.  You could substitute ground beef for the lamb...

  • I was lazy today and picked up dinner on the way home. I got a rotisserie chicken, some heat and eat white macaroni and cheese and steamed some broccoli. Mixed it all together and voila! Something my little kids would actually eat LOL I don't eat meat, so I buy individual portions of fish to keep on hands for nights like this, so I had cod and broccoli.

  • We all had whatever the hell we wanted tonight. The kids ate cereal and yogurt, I had leftover lasagna. Usually on quick/easy nights we do quesadillas, tacos, pasta/sauce, scrambled eggs/omelettes, something like that. I feel completely lazy tonight so I didn't even go that far.
  • We had banana pancakes and a big bowl of fruit salad.
