Does this make sense?

I had my 34 week appt today, and was told to schedule my next one for 2 weeks and get the GBS test and final ultrasound. Dandy, but when I got to scheduling she made my appt for April 18.. I'll be 37 weeks by then, not to mention it's almost 3 weeks from now. Is it ok to have the GBS test that late, and/or be scheduled for an appt that long after the last one? I don't know maybe I'm just being crazy, but my mom was even surprised especially since I've been having contractions and nesting already she's almost sure I'll have this baby before I go back. I'm not that confident, but anyway I'm rambling.... Opinions?

    Did they not have a sooner appt available? Seems kind of weird that they would book you out so far. I had a similar situation recently. I had to reschedule an appt but the next appt would put me out 3 wks, so they just had me come in a little sooner then 2 wks instead. They said 3 wks between was too long between appts, as I am almost to the point where I will be switching to weekly appts. I would call them and ask why it was scheduled so far out. Couldn't hurt to ask.

    I'm doing the same thing, basically. IDK the dates exactly but between my last appointment and my next, is about 3 weeks. And I'll be getting the GBS test when I go in.

    They did mine yesterday.  I think it's fine, but I'm not a doc. Call and ask, if you are worried.

    I had the opposite situation as PP.  We scheduled for 3 weeks out instead of 2.  One week is not going to make a difference for the GBS test.  I think I have mine at 38 weeks.

    I can't make my next 2 week appointment, so they're having me come in in 1 1/2 weeks instead of 2 1/2 weeks. It seems like they'd prefer to err on the side of caution at this point. Odd that your office did it the other way. I'd probably bring it up.

    it's 100 % fine to do the test at 37 weeks, that's when i had mine done. they will also likely redo it at the hospital to be sure, so it can be done right before, don't worry about that at all.

    with my last pregnancy they did it at 37 weeks and it was negative, then they redid it at the hospital and it was positive.

    I was told the GBS test should be between 35-37 weeks so I think you're fine on that side of it. This late though I'm not sure that I would be comfortable going 3 weeks without an appt. My Dr. would not be ok with that.
