My baby boy can't wear a diaper?!?

My DS has a pretty bad diaper rash so the doctor suggested we put the cream on and then leave his diaper open to the air. I asked the obvious question about DH and I getting sprayed but then she said to just leave him lightly covered with a burp cloth or wash cloth. This does not seem like it will work to me. Does anyone else have a suggestion?

Puppy pads....that's what they called here absorbent disposable mat thingys we use them giving her "air" time just lay one over or under him...

We do naked time a couple times every day for 20-30 minutes. I just lay him on a thick blanket on his playmat and let him kick at the toys. Now that he's crawling though, it's getting a little harder!

Can you lay down some towels on the floor and let him play down there for a little while? The air will really help with the rash and it will keep the pee off of your furniture. We lay down a water proof liner down under the towels in our house to keep it off of the rug too.

If you do this just a few minutes a day, it should help. I give my girl some naked time for a little bit every day. I don't have a boy, but I would think that a cloth would work (for a short time!) although it probably depends on how wiggly your little guy is. Just make sure there's a waterproof changing mat underneath you!

We call DS's penis the fire hose for a reason.

OP, even letting LO air dry for a couple of minutes in between changes can make a big difference. If you want to do a solid chunk of naked time, though, I highly recommend wrapping loosely in receiving blankets and planning on doing laundry afterwards :P

I put our changing pad on the floor and put W on the pad tummy down. That way if he pees, it all just soaks into the pad. I suppose if your LOs rash is on the front, this won't help it air out much, but if it's on the back it would help a lot.

This totally made me LOL... My DS is like this too! I haven't been doing nakey time but I have seen more and more people post about it and it has me curious... DS loves to be nakey but he is a squirmer!!
