I don't have a pediatrician, but I have called my family doctor and he sees babies and will take then without wait-list etc (which is good in our area where doctors are hard to come by).

Up until yesterday I would have said me... Finally jumped on the ball and made the call. Our girls will be seeing the same pediatrician I saw as a baby!

We already have a pediatrician for our toddler but I'm thinking we might switch. I'm just not loving our current practice.

We have an idea of who we want only problem is he does not take our current insurance. However we are switching insurance companies on May 1st.

It has been on my "To Do" list for a while, but I haven't had time to call around and "interview" a bunch of places. Odds are I will find one that is conveniently located and go with it, then switch up if it's not working out.

get on that! I called the pedi last week to schedule a meet/greet and the first appt was a cancellation in a MONTH. Waaaay too close to the due date. I had no idea that they were so booked in those cases.

I know who I want and that they are accepting patients but I haven't made the call. I have had the worst luck with phones this year and my phone currently won't dial out and we are trying to locate a charger for an old phone. Otherwise I can only make phone calls when my husband is home. Texting works fine though.

When I first read this post, I would have said ME! But it inspired me to get off my lazy bum and make the phone call I've been putting off for way too long now. I meet with the doctor that has come most highly recommended to us on April 11th. I assume we'll go with him unless I find a serious problem during our meeting. So THANKS OP, for the motivation!!

I found a pediatrician but I need to find another OB because my poor OB had a minor stroke over the weekend. I am hoping his office will recommend another OB to me because it is so late in the pregnancy to be searching for someone else.

Well, there is only one in town who takes our American insurance, so at least I have it narrowed down. Not let's hope they speak English too. Fingers crossed.

We just got an FAQ sheet on the practice yesterday. Most of the peds in our metro area don't meet before baby's birth. Front desk staff or nurses answer most commonly asked questions. Apparently they can't bill for these visits and don't do them often anymore. Has anyone else found this to be true?

I have Kaiser and when I put in a request for one that came highly recommended from some family I was told that I couldn't get one until the baby is born and has his own medical record number. I'm going to talk to my OB about this at my next appointment. You would think that I could at least make sure I get on a list for this doctor! Ugh!!!

My OB gave me a list at my very first appointment but I haven't done anything with it. I'll probably get grief about it at my birth plan appt on Monday but at least that will motivate me.

I don't have one yet either. I'm trying to get a rec from my family doctor that is a little over an hour away. I will take her to him if I don't find anyone I like down here. Unfortunately, there isn't much to choose from, but hopefully I can find someone closer.
