A lurker with a question for you guys.

I really don't post much but I wanted to see if anyone has dealt with this before. I babysit a friend's 5 month old. Monday she started rolling her eyes back in her head.She does it simultaneously and no fluttering.She did end up the following day taking her to the urgent care and they schedule an appointment for neuro in two weeks. She does it several times a day. Do you think she is just curious about her new trick or something worse. Mainly I am worried because She is with me 5 hours a day. I have no experience with anything like this. Just wondering. Any input would be appreciated.Thanks!

    I would see if you can video the eye rolling with a Flip camera or on a digital camera so her mom can take it with her to the neuro appointment.  I would also keep a list of when she does it and under exactly what circumstances. When eating, after a nap, when excited, after watching something etc,

    Nate does an eye roll trick too, but I think it is more of a blink type thing with him. When he gets excited her sort of grins and looks up and then it turns into an eye roll. He has had eye muscle issues in the past that are resolved as well as a brain abnormality, but this does not mean there is something wrong with the LO you watch. It is good that you and mommy are on top of things!

    My son does this when he's tired, which is entirely typical according to his neuro.  Could your friend's child be tired?

    She does it infrequently.I noticed it when I was feeding her in her carseat. She does it until the whites only show. So I call her name to try to get her attention. Just gives me the creeps! I'm sorry to say that.She does also sort of cross one eye a little when she looks sideways. I  am thinking maybe something to do with eye muscles maybe glasses. Thanks for your input guys. Sorry I don't post much. Two infants makes for a busy day. But I do enjoy reading everyone's post and I'll try to post more. (fingers crossed)
