Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Where did baby sleep first 2-3 weeks?

With the possiblity of us moving shortly after the baby is born, I'm wondering if she will really need the crib the first few weeks. My mom is getting my craddle redone and buying bedding so we would have that and the bouncy seat. We are trying not to open the Pnp until we move.

Just curious where your baby slept the first 2-3 weeks.

  • In bed with us. He's still there. He flat out refuses to sleep in his co-sleeper or PNP. Didn't see that one coming.

  • a cradle in our room
  • DD has been in her crib from day 1.  That was the easiest thing for us and has worked great. The cradle would be fine, especially if you are moving soon.  I wouldn't want to disassemble the crib and then have to put it back together.

  • He has slept in his crib from the first night we were home. We did not feel it was safe for him to sleep with us nor did I really want him in our room at night. We are right next to his room so we hear him when he starts to fuss at night.
  • Mostly with me. But, in the bassinet when I could get her to stay in it! We also slept on the couch, cause of my c/s incision...it was easier to sleep upright on the couch. UGH, I don't miss that! lol
  • We've just gotten him to sleep in his bassinet.  Before that he would only sleep with me.  He still usually ends up in our bed by morning.

  • Cradle in our room.

  • DS sleeps in his bassinet right next to me every night. ?I was planning on having him nap in his crib so that he'd get used to it but it has only happened once. ?I don't know why I don't put him in it more??? ?I need to start - I'll do it today:) ?I keep him so close at night because he is up every 3-4 hours (it was every 2 until 2 weeks ago).

  • We have put Fenton in his crib since the first day home, we live in an apt and his room is right across from ours so distance wasn't an issue.

  • DD slept in the arm's reach co-sleeper and still does most of the time. we've been trying to transition her to the crib, but it hasn't been going very well.

  • We used the bassinet for almost 4 months along with co-sleeping.  DS had only a few inches left in the bassinet but hadn't reached the weight limit- anyhow, we've just now transitioned to crib (and co-sleeping when I'm just waay too exhausted and DH brings him to me in bed).

  • DS slept in PNP in living room for first 2 months, so I didn't have to go upstairs to his room in the middle of the night...too far.

  • PNP in our room.  I was worried that I wouldn't hear him if he woke up (yeah, right) and I liked having him close.  He stayed there until about 10 weeks and then we transitioned him to the crib.

  • Our little one has slept in bed with us since coming home. We are working on getting her into her bassinet, but so far no luck.  I'm going to really start trying to get her in there over the next week.  Her room is all the way across the house from our room, so we won't be putting her in there for a few months.

  • On me/beside me.  I couldn't get her to sleep anywhere else for longer than 15 minutes for the first 8 weeks.  Now she's a wonderful crib sleeper.
  • the bassinet. we cold turkey switched him in to his crib around 7 weeks...plus he sleeps with his arms stretched out now, so he outgrew the bassinet fairly quickly. GL!
  • She wouldn't sleep in the bassinet we have (wouldn't lie flat d/t reflux), so she slept in her carseat.
