Decided to take a vacation

My DH and I have not only decided to take a break this cycle, but we just decided to go on vacation to Florida for 9 days in April. TravelParadise       I really, really need a vacation!!  I think we're going to make it a real break from trying to get pregnant, and just enjoy ourselves.  Does anyone else feel the need for a break sometimes?  I don't want to be selfish, but I can't remember the last time that I didn't have babies on my mind, and opks and bbt, and cm.  I just want to relax. 
Me: 27, DH: 28 TTC since 11/09
2/10 & 3/10 Clomid 50mg-BFN
5/10-Lap Surgery for Stage 2 Endo
3/11-IUI#1 with Follistim and Menopur-developed mild OHSS= BFN
6/11-IUI#2 with Follistim -developed moderate OHSS= BFN!
7/11-FSH-11, AMH 1.6
9/11-ttc naturally with positive thoughts :)
10/6/11-POSITIVE pregnancy test!!! 15dpo BETA-220
6/14/2012- Riley Harper arrived!! We love our little girl

    Good for you!!!  I did take a break in Februrary and went to San Antonio for a week.  It was the first time in a long time that I actually did forget what cycle day it was and I really relaxed for the whole month.  I think it's what stopped me from going insane. Have fun and enjoy the warm weather!

    I think a vacation sounds heavenly!!  

    If only we weren't using all our extra $ to pay for this stuff.....

    Dx -Ute cancer, DOR from cancer treatments, and embryo quality issues. NOV 2010 CANCER FREE
    2005-2011= 3 Rounds of Clomid, 5 IUI's, 3 IVF's- ALL BFN's
    After 7yrs TTC, 5yrs of ute cancer, and 11 failed IF treatments, we got a surprise BFP! So thankful!

    Since being on board with our RE (a year ago in Feb) we have taken 2 breaks. It was so nice! We still had some hope of course that maybe it would happen. And this is because my cycles are pretty regular.

    It truly helped me mentally.

    I absolutely feel you need to take a break.  I took a break for about 2 months after IVF #2...or 3 depending how you want to count it.  I really hope you enjoy your FL vacation!
    TTC since 3/07. IVF#1 = canceled. IVF#2 = 0% fertilization. IVF#3 = BFN. IVF#4 = c/p.

    A vacation sounds nice!

    I'm in the middle of a 3 month break and it has been very nice.

    After 3 years of infertility we were blessed with twin girls through private infant adoption.

    I think a break is a brilliant idea, especially given how hard last cycle sounded on you physically.  I hope the sunny Florida weather turns things around!

    TTC #1 since October 2008. Dealing with MFI.
    IVF #1 w ICSI in July 2010 = BFN
    IVF #2.1 in Oct 2010 converted to IUI = BFN
    IVF #2.2 w ICSI in Dec 2010 = BFN
    Met with new RE in new city on 1/31/11.
    IVF #3 w ICSI in April 2011. HPT on 5/9 = BFP!
    Beta #1 on 5/10 (10dp5dt) = 99.4. Beta #2 on 5/12 = 284. First u/s on 5/26. = Fraternal TWINS!
    Twin boys born & lost on 8/16/11 at 18w1d due to PPROM & preterm labor.
    IVF #4.1 in Jan 2012 converted to IUI on 1/7/12 = BFN
    IVF #4.2 w ICSI in Feb 2012. Lupron on 2/10. Stims on 2/18. ER on 2/29- 7R,6F
    ET scheduled for 3/5/12- nothing to transfer :(
    Dh seeing new MFI uro & Dh starting meds- June 2012.
    IVF #5 in Dec 2012 = BFFN.
    IVF #6 planned for Spring 2013. Praying for our take home baby/ies.

    Thanks everyone!!  We're headed to Boca Raton for 9 days.   My husband's a teacher so he has spring recess starting on April 15th.  Last cycle was really rough on me so I need to be really relaxed in order to start the next medicated cycle.  I'm going to my RE tomorrow to discuss why the last cycle failed and what my next step will be in May (unless of course, I magically get pregnant naturally in the next 30 days).  I'll have my laptop with me so I can still bump!  (I love bumping!!)

    Yep! I understand! I took a 9 day break from grad school and work and went to Paris and London in March. You need a mental break sometimes! Have fun and hang in there!
    The key to life is to enjoy the journey IUI#1 & #3=BFN (2010) IUI #2=c/p (2010) IUI#4-BFP,but ruled ectopic(2011) IUI#5: Feb 2012 (clomid, bravelle & ovidrel)
