Waking up a ton at night and short naps

My SIL is visiting and Lilly woke up a ton last night and only took 2 very short naps today. She is also woke up for the day early. Tonight she took forever to go down and then has woken up crying 3 times so far and then lays back down and goes back to sleep. She usually STTN without a peep until morning.

Is this milestone related? She is going to be 1 year tomorrow. Also noticed she had a runny nose today and sneezing. So maybe cold? Ugh, hoping it won't be another long night. And it is hot now and supposed to be hotter tomorrow and no a/c. Ugh.

I can relate b/c I've always had a short napper but she sleeps great at night. During milestones such as crawling, walking, talking more and teething can cause sleep disturbances with night wakings & short naps. Just be consistent and patient! Always offer an ealier bedtime to make up for sleep loss during the day. Night wakings too are caused by too late of a bedtime or not enough wake time during the day. If your LO is getting sick this also can play havoc on their sleep!

If she is getting sick, maybe she has an ear infection? I know when DD acts like this, she has an ear infection becuse it hurts to lay down. JUst keep an eye on here today, take her temp, and go from there! We are in sleep-deprived mode here as well with DD doing the same thing, but this time- she's getting in 4 teeth at once! Maybe your LO is getting teeth??
