We had several first-timers (yay!), including ewhite who made this gorgeous berry trifle - yum!
Some of the questions we discussed:
Were there any benefits to Jack growing up in Room?
What would Ma's life have been like if Jack hadn't been born?
Would you have put your trust in your 5 year old to handle your escape?
How did you feel about the dad's reaction to Jack? (Ma's Dad)
Did the TV interview trigger Ma's suicide attempt or was it coincidental?
What would you have picked for Sunday Treat?
How does Old Nick get his info - does he belong to some creepy message board of other psycho kidnappers?
And Inquiring Minds wanted to know:
How could she be in that room for 7 years and not figure out the punchcode? Couldn't the keypad have been worn down?
Oh, totally could have/ would have changed the code often. Security 101. He probably learned it from his message board.
The one about all the politicians?
Last night was my first book club experience, and I loved it! Little Bee is going to get downloaded to my kindle today so I can start it while I'm on lunch
Speaking of food, I've got an insane amout of that trifle sitting in my fridge right now....
This is my first post on the baby boards, so I'll just throw it out there that I'm not TTC (at least not while DH is still in law school), just wanting to get to know you all!

First of all, thank you for hosting, smb! I had a great time even though I missed ALL of the book discussion (and I actually read this book dangit!). But more importantly, it was good seeing and catching up with you guys.
p.s. I read the first 10 pages of Little Bee last night. OMG, I'm already dreading the devastation and horrors that I'm about to read. Game Change better not make me cry, y'all, or I'm going to be pissed. ;P

I started on Little Bee over lunch -- gonna be another heartbreaker..... DH was excited to hear that we picked Game Change for the list, b/c he's been listening to the audio book and trying to get me engaged in it for weeks XD
