I have lost close to 10 lbs. during this pregnancy so I was told to go to a nutritionist. Thanks to living in the middle of nowhere, I had a hard time finding one in-network that was within an hour drive. Finally found one out-of-network in the area but she was somewhat useless. Pretty much told me to eat whatever I want. I've kinda been doing this anyway. She even said she didn't know what to tell me. Insurance better not make me pay more than my co-pay for this useless info. I think I will freak if I get a big bill. I'm also annoyed that I had to use precious leave for the appt. At least it gave me license to get DH to go out for more ice cream.

I don't think there is a health food store in the area. I'm in a very rural area and Walmart is probably what they think of as a health food store. I will probably wait and see how my weight is in a few weeks. Anatomy scan is tomorrow so as long as LO is ok then I'm not gonna stress the weight. My former doctor and friend does weight managaement so I will probably talk/try to see her next. Her office is about 2 hours away so I'm not trying to do that trek if I can help it. Thanks for the advice!!
Here's a list of books on nutrition geared towards pregnant women. It is a pretty big list, hopefully you can find one that seems like what you're looking to learn.

(I forget how to make the links clicky on macs...sorry!)
Thanks for the link. I am going to check it out. I was pretty honest with the nutritionists. As we went through the food pyramid, I let her know things such as that I don't like to drink milk but I like milk products and she said that was fine. I also said that I have never thought of myself as a "healthy" eater. I have always eaten what I want in life but I'm a southern girl at heart. I am going to start drinking ensure or carnation instant breakfast but I felt like she didn't tell me anything new or give any aha! suggestions.
I did have the anatomy scan today and my little girl (so happy to find out) seems healthy and growing. I guess she is enjoying what I'm eating a little too much.
