Pregnant after a Loss

New to the board

Hi! I just wanted to jump in to say hello and introduce myself. I found out last week that I'm pregnant again and I'm really excited, but nervous. I've had 2 missed miscarriages and 2 chemical pregnancies since starting TTC in 2009. Despite all the heartbreak and sadness of the last 2 years, right now I'm happy and hopeful, and a whole mix of emotions in between. My first early u/s on Friday, so we're hoping to see a beautiful little sac.

A little bit more about me. I'm on Lovenox for the first time (for Factor V) and wonder if anyone has any tips about best injection spots. I am doing belly shots, but have heard that the leg is okay too. Haven't tried this, so any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks.

I wish you all a H&H 9 months and I look forward to getting to know you!

  • Welcome and congrats!  I've read that icing the injection spot before and after the injection helps, but I bet some of the other ladies on here can give you better advice.

I'm on Lovenox as well. I've heard that the leg isn't a good place, as the absorption rate isn't the highest. I stick to the belly. My fav spots are right around my belly button and a nice fat pocket right above the ovaries.

You can also check out the high risk board. There's a weekly check in for us blood thinner ladies (I think on Tues?)
