We received an offer as soon as we got out of the country, of course! We are negotiating and right now we are close, but not exactly there.
Anyway, this leads me to house hunting.
I THOUGHT I knew what we wanted, but now I am not so sure. We saw a gorgeous house for sale on Victory Parkway across from Xavier, but I know nothing about that area (safety, schools, etc)...
Anyway, we thought we wanted to move in Beckett Ridge and we still really like that area but it is a debate about newer home or older home with character and also what school districts are good, because I have no idea- of course things change quickly and C won't start school for five years, so who knows!
Any ideas/thoughts?
DH works in West Chester but he doesn't mind driving some, but we won't go to Kentucky because it's a horrid drive. Also we need to stay under $200k.
Any thoughts? Anyone a realtor? THough I will warn you that we are using a relo company and thus commissions are cut on it!
Re: Hi ladies- Got an offer, may need to buy a house!
Congrats! It is an ongoing joke but I always tell my clients that either I need to go on vacation or they do and inevitably an offer will come in- happens every time!
What sort of size are you looking for? Your price range and size will dictate a lot about your choices closer in to town especially. You can always go to sibcycline.com and look on the lright hand side for links to all the school information too. As far as safety, I always recommend asking colleagues at work, or here on the board, and you can call the local precinct and get their opinion- I find them very helpful for that kind of information. I'd be happy to help or answer any of your questions- sfoltz@sibcycline.com
I know some streets around X are beautiful, but some of it is pretty close to the dicey parts of Avondale and I don't know if it would be my first choice to live over there. The schools would be Cincinnati Public, we have both neighborhood and magnet schools so you would have choice. North Avondale Montessori is a popular choice in that area. If you want to consider Cincinnati neighborhoods with older homes, I suggest Pleasant Ridge (that's where we live), Oakley, Ridgewood (it's adjacent to Pleasant Ridge), even Mt. Washington (though that may be a bit far for your husband to drive), Mt. Lookout (may be hard to find under 200k). Wyoming and Mariemont are both great but hard to find under $200k there for sure.

Baby Sister is coming soon!
Agree with PP..I love living in Mt Lookout however, you don't get much bang for your buck! But I love the area!
