Isla's Synagis shot covered at 100%!!!

Bout effin time! I knew if I held out a bit longer that her NICU bills would be processed in time for everything to be covered at 100%! YES!! Go US!

Only draw back now is, because my insurance took so long to process her claims, the shot might not be administered by March 31. My insurance will only cover the shot for March but I know my Pedi wants it for March and April. Guess my insurance will just need a Pedi's approval and suck up the cost.

  • Woohooo!!! Just curious- do you know what the out of pocket expense for the shot is? They gave my LO the shot yesterday while in the NICU and I didn't even ask if it was covered.

My cost would have been around $220.00. I know it's 20% of the shot and the shot being $1K or just over. Still, I think insurance should cover these types of things. It's not a routine vaccine, it's in case of a preemie and shouldn't preemies have special provisions because they didn't arrive at term? I think so, just sayin.

  • Great news lilbit! We had to fight the insurance company hardcore to get them to cover Corri's Synagis because she turned 7 months old 2 WEEKS before RSV season started in NJ...it would have been approximately $1,200 per shot otherwise!
