I feel like I have hit a rut trying to come up with different dinners. I bought a crock pot recently and want to use it but I have no ideas on what to make. Ive tried 2 recipes off the internet and both of them were horrible. Share with me recipes that you make that your family loves. TIA!

Re: Crock pot recipes
I just made this Monday night and it was amazing!
Easy Chicken and Dumplings
Chicken breasts (I used 2)
2 cans cream of chicken soup (I used 1 cream of chicken, 1 cream of celery)
1 bag frozen mixed veggies
1 carton Chicken stock
1 can refrigerated biscuits (I used Pillsbury buttermilk)
Layer chicken on bottom of crock pot. Add cream soups, mixed veggies, and enough chicken stock to cover chicken breasts. Cook on low for 7-8 hours or High for 5 hours. Tear biscuits into pieces and and layer on top. Cook an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour on high. (Until biscuits are no longer gooey inside)
My favorite crock pot recipe: (Classic Barbecue Ribs)
Prep: 15 min., Cook: 7 hr. Put these on before you leave for work, or cook them overnight and refrigerate until dinnertime. If you make this recipe a day ahead, refrigerate overnight and remove fat from the sauce before reheating. If you reheat in the microwave, use 50% power.Yield: Makes 4 to 6 servingsIngredients4 pounds bone-in country-style pork ribs2 teaspoons salt, divided1 medium onion, chopped1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar1 cup apple butter1 cup ketchup1/2 cup lemon juice1/2 cup orange juice1 tablespoon steak sauce1 teaspoon coarse ground pepper1 teaspoon minced garlic1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauceGarnish: chopped fresh parsleyPreparation1. Cut ribs apart, if necessary, and trim excess fat; sprinkle 1 tsp. salt evenly over ribs.2. Stir together remaining 1 tsp. salt, onion, and next 9 ingredients until blended. Pour half of onion mixture into a 5-qt. slow cooker. Place ribs in slow cooker, and pour remaining mixture over ribs.
3. Cover and cook on HIGH 6 to 7 hours or until ribs are tender. Garnish, if desired.
French Onion Stroganoff
In crock pot, place beef roast, then dump 1 can cream of mushroom and 1 can french onion soup. Cook on low, eh 6 - 8 hours? When it's done, take your fork and shred the meet. Add 1 container sour cream, I use light. Boil up 1 bag egg noodles. Serve the beef mixture over noodles. My husband really likes this one.
On a side, note another recipe I love that is easy:
Buy a small rotisserie chicken. Debone. Put like 45 ounces of chicken broth on to boil. Add diced celery and carrots (I steam mine first so they are softer) Add fresh or frozen tortellini. Add chicken. Cook until all heated. Makes a delicious, easy soup we love. We use only half the rotisserie chicken, then I use the rest in another recipe the next night.
I tried this this week and it was good. DD ate it up too.

Salsa Chicken - throw 3-4 chicken breasts in, a can of black beans and jar of salsa and cook on low all day, shred and serve over rice or with tortillas and chips - super yummy and easy.
This is really good when it is cold out. And tastes good with low fat cream cheese and sour cream.

And then this whiskey pork recipe (I used chicken breasts usually) is a hit. DH asks for it all the time.

Oregano, Garlic, salt, to taste
Cook the sauage in frying pan for 10 minutes (5 on each side) It can be a little pink in the middle, but you want it mostly cooked
Slice the sausage into 1/2 rounds and put in crockpot
Add sauce, onions, peppers and seasoning
Cook on low 6-8 hours
Serve with choice of pasta
Easiest thing ever and it's delicious!
Pot Roast
Pot roast
Packet Lipton Beefy Onion soup
Cup of water
Baby carrots
Wondra, cornstarch, or flour
Put the first three ingredients on low for 6-8 hours. Take roast out to thicken up liquid (I usually shake Wondra right in there because it's so easy but you could dilute some flour or cornstarch in a little water to get the same effect). Return roast and add carrots. Cook for 45 minutes or so on high (until carrots are tender). While it's cooking I usually make mashed potatoes to go with it. It's delish and super easy.
