I posted yesterday about a low HR, enlarged yolk sac & baby dating a week+ behind at my first u/s yeseterday. Heres the link if you want more info https://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/51205478.aspx
Also, after having my daughter I have had 2 miscarriages. This is threatening to be my third.
My progesterone on CD 26 was 25.5 and yesterday it was down to 14. I will say that I am in the medical profession & completely understand the implications of all of the hormones, etc., but can someone share more insight or articles regarding progesterone levels in the first trimester. On the one hand I am glad to have an abnormal lab, because it gives us a possible reason for recurrent losses, but on the other hand I am totally bummed (obviously) that I keep having issues. And even if this is a major problem, it doesn't mean its my only problem & it doesn't mean that supplementing with progesterone will be the end all-be all.
I dont really know what I'm looking for, just more stories about peoples progesterone levels dropping, what it meant for you, did you get treated with subsequent pregnancies & were they healthy?
Thanks.
(This is a post and run. I will respond later).
Re: Question about progesterone levels dropping in first tri...
So you're not on supplements? My levels went from 12 to 26 to 20.5. They put me on supplements when I was at 12 (that was less than 4 weeks pregnant). My doctor said all you need to sustain a pregnancy is a 10, but they like to see it higher. When I asked my OB why it dropped from 26 to 20.5 he asked me why I thought it was supposed to go up and said it can fluctuate throughout the day even.
I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for so I hope this was helpful. If you're not on supplements maybe it is something you should consider.
I'm sorry you're under this stress though and I hope your progesterone was just having a wonky minute.
I am not a medical professional, but I do have low progesterone issues. I would be concerned about your level dropping that much. My RE's office considers 9 the absolute minimum for a pregnancy... Have you asked your doctor about starting progesterone supplements? They won't keep a bad pregnancy in (my RE claims) but might save an otherwise healthy pregnancy.
Sending positive vibes for a good outcome your way... ((HUGS))

I was being tested (pre this PG) for low progesterone and mine was bad, less than 5, even with ovulation, so now I'm on supplements (oral) and they have been, for my 2 draws, super super high (over 200).
I don't know if my previous loss was due to low progesterone but I would guess that it's likely, or it played a part in my m/c as I bled early in the pregnancy, which could be a symptom.
We got PG the first time I was on supplements and I'm staying PG so far (knock on wood) and on the supplements until 12 weeks. The supplements aren't bad and I don't have many side effects, besides they co-inside with PG symptoms, so I don't notice.
I hope your doctor is responsive and helpful.

Everybody is welcome!!!
This is exactly what my OB told me prior to my last loss. GL to you!
This. My OB told me that progesterone levels dropping was usually a symptom and not the actual problem. I did see a drop with my second (lost my first too early) and it turned out LO had stopped growing in between the two tests.
I know when I was asking around on the boards a LOT of women had progesterone issues and went on to have healthy pregnancies. Hope your's turns around. GL
