A "Surprise Wedding" !

On my knot board there is this guy who has decided he wants to surprise his gf (not engaged) with a wedding in vegas.

They have the trip planned, but she has no idea he is planning on proposing the night they get there, and then has a wedding planned for the next day!

Nobody can talk him out of it, he is dead set on thinking she will REALLY LOVE IT!

I really can't imagine any woman liking this idea.

So, my question, would you like this?

Re: A "Surprise Wedding" !

  • Aww- I love the "thought" of this- but if she is anything like most of the girls I know- it may not go over too well. It's so sweet and romantic in theory- but I would want my family and a few very close friends there at least! If he made that happen- I may be more receptive.

  • Nooooo! I hate surprises, so this would be like a nightmare for me.

I think even if you like surprises, a girl might feel "cheated" out of getting to plan the wedding the way she wants it to be.

I foresee a sad ending to this one. Tongue Tied

  • Maybe if it's her 2nd or 3rd and already had the wedding she dreamed of and mentioned she didn't want much of a wedding would be the only thing I could think of. Maybe she wants to get married in Vegas? Did he mention if family or friends will be there? I would be surprised if dh did that to me but I would have married him.

  • Totally depends. if they've talked about marriage and he knows she wants to marry him, cool.

I would be ok with it if my husband was as rich as Donald Trump, brought me to Vegas and secretly flew out my family and friends. And after proposing, whisk me away for a spa day/make over and have some stylist show up and let me pick any wedding dress I want. Then I'd be ok with it. And while I'm getting my hair and nails done, I get to pick out a cake and bouquet. Then, sure..why not?

  • wow... terrible idea.. what if she says no..

I'm a wedding photographer and I wish I could capture the look on her face when he springs this one on her.

  • I would not like that at all! Will family be there? A wedding dress? So not cool in my book.
