Work Vent...
Okay ladies, I just need someplace to vent about how frustrated I am with my former place of employment.
I found out, on my maternity leave, that we would be closing March 7th. I cut my maternity leave 4 weeks short so that I could return to work and help close the place down, since they "needed me so much."
Since then they have:
1. Screwed up my unemployment. They didn't report it correctly and I had to spend hours on the phone with the UC people straightening it out.
2. Screwed up my taxes- I am married, but claimed Single and no exemptions. They didn't take taxes out right so the big return we were expecting to pay off bills didn't happen.
Now, today, I found out number 3:
3. I carry the health insurance for my family. I get a letter, dated MARCH 24th that I haven't had insurance since March 12th!!!!! I was told that our benefits would last till the end of the month, then we could pay what we had been paying for the next two months, and they would pay for the balance of the COBRA. When I called they said that they are trying to straighten it out, but "things at corporate got screwed up".
SERIOUSLY!?!?! I have a 3.5 month old infant and no health insurance... this place is the largest private healthcare provider in the country and this is how they run their facilities! I am freaking out about no having health insurance... ah!
