Morning sickness and a dentist appt

So the Morning Sickness seems to have made a comfy spot with me over the last few days and I have a dentist appointment tomorrow at 8am. I don't want to cancel because it could be forever before they can get me in for my cleaning again.

What should I do? I'm afraid I will vomit on my poor hygenist. I plan to warn her when I get there because I will need to tell her anyway since I can't have an x-ray. I'm thinking I won't be the first or the last to vomit at the dentist if it does happen?

  • I'd call and see if they can possibly get you in for an appt when you are closer to 20 weeks!  I know I wouldn't have wanted anyone to get near my mouth at that point.  Good luck!  I know m/s is no fun :(

  • I would probably still go, only because I am crazy about getting my teeth cleaned every 6 months.  And, I *think*, my hygenist said no fluoride.

  • I would call and make sure they will be able to clean your teeth.  My dentist didn't want me to come in until I was in my second trimester.

  • April, are you doing everything at the same time as me?  LOL.  I have a dentist appt on Monday and I too was worried about this same problem.  I haven't vomited yet, but the nausea is just killing me!

  • I'd call and reschedule.  Waiting 1-2 mos isn't going to be the end of the world.

Apparently! Except, my appointment is first so you must be following my lead on this one :)

They just called me to confirm my appointmet at 5:15 and I asked her what I should do and she said to come on in. I asked when I could get another morning appointment and they are booked 5 months out! It will be time for my next cleaning by then!! So, I guess I will go ahead and give it a try. Thankfully I normally do the whole gagging/vomiting bit in the morning then it's just nausea the rest of the day so hopefully I will get it out of the way before I leave the house!

    Thanks for the advice ladies!
