At our first childbirth class last night, l loved the instructor's tip about putting baby's coming home outfit on a hanger directly across the room from the birthing bed to use as a focal point. That's exactly what I am going to do. (And no, I don't have some fancy schmancy outfit. Just a one piece pj set.) When I am in the depths of labor, I will look at it and imagine bringing baby home.
Re: focal point tip
I'm planning to use a focal point too, but it is not your normal choice I'm sure. My SIL has been so down on me since the very beginning that I can't birth without pain meds (which is my plan). Every time it comes up she laughs in my face, and calls me stupid for wanting to do this. She was not able to do it with her two kids, so I guess she thinks she is an expert on labor
So, I am planning to use a pic of her as my focal point to give me the power to prove her wrong! I am not someone who likes being told that I can not do something. I know its not the usual choice for a focal point, but she has pissed me off so bad that I think it will be great for me to use that as my power.
I like your thinking! I hope it works for you!
HA! That's fantastic and sounds like something I would do. Love it!
