Is this a no-no? DD loves being swaddled and will fall asleep almost immediately when we do it. But I'm not sure about doing it at night- does anyone know if this is okay or a big no-no?
My pediatrician said as long as the blankets aren't going to get loose, it's fine. We use sleep sacks though, because LO doesn't like his arms swaddled (he actually wakes himself up grunting trying to break loose!). I usually put a tighter blanket swaddled around his legs as well because he is a kicker.
We swaddle our DD every night. Our Pedi and our baby class both told us to swaddle at night. A lot of times their startle reflex will wake them up. Being swaddled keeps them in nice and tight and comfy:) Hope this helps:)
I've been doing it at night. When we were still in the hospital, the nursery would swaddle LO at night so I kind of assumed it was ok. I make sure it isn't near his face. He likes his hands free so it's always loose around his face.
We have to swaddle at night or LO's startle reflex wakes her up. We use the Summer Infant Swaddler. It stays tight around her arms, but is looser around her legs (which she apparently hates to be confined) so it works well for us.
We use a halo sleepsack swaddler. It's been really cold here so we've been using a fleece one. I put the swaddle part under his arms, though b/c I just felt it was safer and he seems to like it better that way.
