sleeping in and nap trouble

ds normally is up by 7, 730 at the latest.  well this morning he didn't get up until almost 830!

so this meant i had to push his nap time back since he slept in.... i could tell he was tired, but every time i tried to leave the room he'd get out of bed, so i spent almost an hour singing/humming/rubbing his back, pretending to be a sleep, you name it.

in the end, no nap was had.  

does this happen to anyone else when their kid sleeps in?  

and now here it is 3pm and he's obviously sleepy but it's too late for a nap now!   and forget about just letting him take a short nap bc kiddo turns into a grouch monster when he's woken up early from a nap. *sigh*

    We have the same problem when DD sleeps in, so we don't allow her to do that anymore. Would I like extra sleep in the morning? Of course! But, if she doesn't wake up at her normal time, she won't nap the rest of the day and is a BEAST to deal with.

    ugh totally!!! ds hasn't been too bad today, but has been extra whiney, and i sure could have used a nap today, which made me extra cranky lol.

    its been a fun day for all!  i think you're right. no more sleeping in.
