Is This Baby Movement?

Just to the left of my belly button it felt like my muscle was twitching or spasming or something it was weird.. It was constant for maybe 20 seconds and then went away...?

Re: Is This Baby Movement?

  • I cant feel what youre feeling but my first baby movements felt like little twitches and were around that area too.

  • One of the ways I've described movement was that it felt like a muscle twitching, so it could very well be your little baby!

  • It probably wasn't your baby, sorry.  It can feel like that, but lower.  Your uterus is likely several finger widths below your belly button at 16 weeks.  Now, if your uterus is much higher, then yes, it could be the baby.

  • I definitely think it was your baby! When I first started feeling my baby move it felt exactly like muscle twitches. It's the best feeling in the world :)

  • I've been having the same feelings.  At first I thought it was gas but it would last for several minutes in one spot.  The other night it felt like my baby was having a party down there - it was fluttering for a super long time.  Totally weird, but awesome to experience!

  • I'm almost 20 weeks, and all my baby's movements are much lower than my belly button. It actually DOES feel like twitching, but I don't think your baby would be that high at 16 weeks. Your uterus is 16 cm above your pelvic bone (the one right above your girl-parts in the front) at 16 weeks. 17 cm at 17 weeks, and so on. It won't make it to your belly button until around 19-20 weeks, usually. This is not to say that it's impossible, but highly unlikely. Don't worry, you'll feel it soon! I started REALLY feeling it at 19 weeks. It went from nothing to everything in one day!

  • I think it was the baby moving. I said to the left of my belly button just to give an idea. I guess I should have taken a more precise measurement of where the feeling was. It was lower than my belly button but I'm not sure exactly how low. It was hard to pinpoint the location of the feeling. I know its like nothing I've ever felt before. I'll know for sure in time if it reoccurs regularly.

  • Could be, mine felt like a goldfish bumping into a bag at first.
  • I'm prego with twins so my B baby is just in between my belly button and my boobs.  I was just telling my DW that the baby moving felt like a twitch I get after orgasm.  I'm not sure were your uterus is at 16 weeks with a singleton.  I think everything I feel in my uterus is my babies moving because it makes me happy.

I didn't feel many flutters early on but hit 21 weeks and now they are going crazy and my DW can feel them too!

  • YES! I felt this yesterday and have never felt it before! Almost like a strong spasm or a really strong wiggle! I was told that it was the babes!
