WI Zoo

Hi ladies - I live in the Wausau area and DH and I are planning on taking DS to a zoo this spring/summer because he really likes animals.  So we were looking for something that we could do a day trip from Wausau.  I was thinking the New Zoo in Green Bay, which I've never been to or the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, which I have been to.  Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreaciated.

    Hello fellow Wisconsinite and Wausaunite :) The one in Green Bay is suppose to be a nice one! Madison is nice too. Jim Pecks is always a good low key, close one too :)

    The NEW Zoo and the Henry Vilas Zoo are both nice. I'm a fan of the NEW Zoo though! :) Maybe because I live in the Fox Valley.

    But, I love the Milwaukee Zoo, but I know it's quite the haul from Wausau!

    Yeah, that's the problem.  We don't want to have to stay overnight and having DS in his carseat for 6-8 hours in a day just isn't gonna work.  I'm thinking we will try out the NEW Zoo.

    Can't go wrong with the FREE zoo in Madison, and I love the New Zoo too!
