Hello all, just curious if anyone knows if it's safe to do plank twists in your second trimester. I've been looking online and everything says planks are fine but none specify if the twisting in the obliques is bad.
I still do planks and side bends and they really help me keep a strong lower back too. Do you feel any abdominal discomfort? I would ask your doctor, but mine side it's fine. I think abdominal exercises are a concern due to the separation of stomach muscles. I personally do not do sit ups of any kind, but know of women that have even after 20 weeks.
I was told no twists at all by my trainer...No twists, no weight above your shoulders, no downward dog. Its a small price to pay for an uncomplicated pregnancy.
