2nd Trimester

odd shaped belly

I think someone wrote a post like this (I remember seeing the title) but I can't find it so forgive me if this is a repeat question.....

I swear my belly is lopsided.  It seems to angle towards my right side.  Is that normal?  Could it meant the baby is just laying funny?  I haven't LO yet, but since yesterday I have been noticing that it really is leaning to one side.

Re: odd shaped belly

  • My belly was odd shaped when I was pg with DS.  It wasn't all cute and round, it was sort of flat in front. ; ) It's probably how the baby is laying.

  • Mine is - this early apparently baby is still moving positions a lot, so the big bulge is where it's head is.  I had a big left bulge last week, had an ultrasound and sure enough the head was on that side, then this week she has apparently moved because the bulge is on the right.  It freaked me out so I asked DH (a doctor) and did a little online research - you're fine!
  • its just baby hanging out on that side. mine seems to always be harder/bulgey on the left side and thats where baby likes to hang out. it will look cuter as baby gets bigger

  • Mines the same way! My LO likes to curl up on my right side.

  • It's like the PPs have said - baby is just hanging out on that side.  This happens to me now, and happened all the time with my first pg.  What this turns into is that really neat, kooky, alien-esque movement you can actually SEE when you're nearing the end of the pg.  It's bizarre, but so much fun.  Baby will wiggle around and your tummy will look like something out of Alien, lol.

  • I can usually tell where the baby's head is by feeling my belly - she also likes to hang out on the right side. It feels lopsided to me sometimes, but my husband says it doesn't really look that way.
