If you did IUI with meds, how much did the whole shebang cost you?
Do you have insurance? If so, how much of the cost did it cover?
How many u/s have you had in the IUI cycle + injects cycle?
Thanks so much for anyone who doesn't mind sharing. I am doing my first IUI once my next cycle starts and I am so excited and nervous! I know prices vary from practice to practice, but I'm just trying to get a ballpark of what this will cost me. Thanks again!
Re: How much did your IUI with injects cost?
My IUI was $375.
I have coverage for monitoring so each of my appointments was $25 co-pay. Each u/s at my clinic is right around $300 (if it isn't covered) and b/w for each monitoring appointment is around $100 I believe.
My meds for my Follistim+HCG+progesterone supps were right around $2,000 total (I do have some random, spotty coverage so I didn't pay this much.)
When I added in Menopur it was right around $4,000 for the meds.
I had my baseline u/s (which is required) and then I needed 2 monitoring appointments for 2 of my IUIs, 3 monitoring appointments for the otehr 2.
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
We have insurance coverage. The first 2 cycles they over charged me so this is what I was supposed to be paying. Our insurance covers 50% of the iui procedure (billing thought it was 50% of IUIs as wella s monitoring), our co-pay is $10
First IUI $204
$10.00 copay for CD3 BW and monitoring apts. 8 for clomid. 45 for injects. 121 for IUI. I had 2 monitoring appointments.
Second $224 - had 2 more monitoring appointments
Third $234 - an extra monitoring appointment
Fourth $230 - had different injects and another monitoring appointment.
Good luck.

I haven't done IUI, but at our clinic, we would pay $300-400 OOP. Insurance covers u/s and b/w fully (no co-pay).
I'm doing Femara + low dose HMG (Repronex) + hCG trigger. We're buying the HMG and hCG from ivfmeds.com, a European pharmacy, so those will cost $175 per cycle. The Femara is covered by our insurance. It's a $10 co-pay per cycle.
Because we're doing hybrid (oral meds + injects) cycles, we're doing u/s on CD3, CD 10 or 11, and then every other day if needed, until trigger. These would cost $250 each if we didn't have insurance.

I am very lucky - my insurance covers 4 iui and 4 ivf (or a combination of that - 8 total). I just did first iui and it cost me $30 for my clomid and ovidrel shot. so i pay for the medications only and those are pretty cheap. At least for iui, i am not doing ivf.
History of IF and 2.5 years TTC. The day we were to start our first IUI we received a call that changed our lives forever and 10 month old Olivia joined our family. Shortly thereafter we got a surprise BFP and baby 2 is due July 5, 2012
I have military insurance and it covers all my vists and ulrasounds with no co-pay. I'm on Follistim+HCG shots and I only had to pay $12 this cycle for my meds. That was for 5 boxes of Follistim + my HCG shot. My insurance doesn't pay for the IUI and we have to pay $525 out of pocket for it!!
NOTE: ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS MILITARY INSURANCE AND KNOWS DIFFERENT ABOUT IUI PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! THANK YOU!

Your clinic may have high prices, but you are Very Lucky to have insurance. I have no insurance coverage at all. I paid $356 for each iui. $253 for every ultra sound, I had three my last cycle. The total was just over $1000. I paid just over $1000 for meds (I?m a poor responder).

I dunno, you're paying out of pocket for an IUI and it will cost you about $1000. I have insurance and I am paying about $1000 for an IUI (not including the meds, which I'd have to pay full price for)... so I don't feel very lucky. Also, I did some looking around and I found a place that medicated IUI's for $500 a pop. That includes all u/s's and meds. It sounds too good to be true, so I'm going to check it out. I'm not really sure how to, though, other than looking at the reviews on Google maps.
BTW, my insurance is an HMO through Kaiser Permanente, a non-profit medical group.
