Can I ramble for a few minutes??

I realized my baby is the last baby I will ever give birth to, and he is growing up way too fast.  :(

I always said I wanted 2 kids, so did DH, but my family is not complete.  But delivering another baby is too risky for me.

We have always planning on pursuing adoption and now that seems to be our only realistic option.  But I feel like it's a process that is going to take so long and it is so far away.  And the cost...I'm have a dedicated savings account for it right now, but yeah, I need a lot more.  I really would love another close in age to the two I already have.

I'm just so saddened by everything.  I want everything to slow down to give me more time to get ready.  I want be getting ready to plan to have another baby.  I wish that my choice to have another biological child was taken from me.  I wish the adoption process wasn't so long and expensive.

  • aww butler! This made me cry! ((HUGS)) I worry about wanting more after the 2 we decided on, but I don't have the other issues to contend w/ at least, if we change our mind... I wish stinking adoption was cheaper! :(

  • I also wish the adoption was less expensive...not for myself personally but for all of those children who need a good, loving home.

I believe that things happen as they should and that there is a plan for each of us.  I hope your plan includes another baby even if the timing isn't completely perfect.

So sorry you're feeling sad :-(

  • DH and I have always wanted to adopt.  After we have LO we are going to decide if we want another biological child or if we should begin to foster right away.  In New Mexico if you foster a child and decide to adopt the state pays for the entire process.  Does Florida have a similar program?  It also expedites the process because the child is already in your home.

Since this is my first LO I don't have any advice, but to say the fact that you will adopt is amazing!  I feel there are so many children who need families and hope everything works out for you.

This is somewhat true in Kansas also, the expenses go down a lot. There are of course some downsides, but it does have advantages. Also with this program in Kansas, the adopted child comes with medical coverage until they are 18 to help encourage people to choose to adopt their foster children instead of keeping them just as foster children.  GL, I can so relate!

  • thanks ladies.

I will look more into foster/adopt and talk to dh about it.  I just worry about giving back a child I grow really attached to.  Actually thinking about it, I think I could work with it.

Like I said I'll lok more into but I do think Florida has something similar!
