Metformin worked for ovulation...now it stopped?

Hey I was wondering if anyone out there had success with Metformin for a few months, and then it stopped working for them. I was put on Metformin in October, and had perfect cycles until February. Very light period. Now I am 3 weeks late and about to miss a 2nd period in a week. Pregnancy tests keep coming back negative. Anyone have any experience with this? Huh? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

    Who put you on the met? Was it for PCOS?

    I've only been on it for a month (IR & PCOS) and it seems to be working.  I've lost 9 pounds so far too, but I think that's more due to my diet than the Met.  Anyway, I hope it doesn't stop working for me.  Have you altered your diet at all since you started taking it?

    I was put on Metformin yes for PCOS and to help me ovulate. I am not IR. No my diet hasn't changed at all. Still waiting for my period. :-/ Hope Metformin continues to help you!

    What dose are you on? I believe 1500 mg is the recommended therapeutic dose, so that may be why.

    I was on both metformin and actos. I responded right away and then started to have long cycles again. Since I was already on 1700 mg of metformin, the endo increased my actos dose and that did the trick.

    Thanks for responding. I was prescribed to work up gradually to 1500 but only got up to 1000 cause the third made me throw up. I started taking the third last night, I hope that does the trick!
