I think I swallowed a golf ball!

anyone else feel like this? I feel like there is a bubble or something hard stuck in my chest. I *think* this is what people call indigestion but every time I look it up, I just find information about heartburn. No burn, just pressure. Any ideas on how to relieve it? I can't take tums (although I'm not sure if that would help) due to a tendency towards kidney stones and I'll avoid that at all costs!

Thanks!

Sometimes I feel this way from eating too much. I also feel that way w/indigestion. I would normally recommend Tums, but I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you could call your doctor's office and see if they'll let you take anything else?

I haven't the slightest clue if this is what you're experiencing or not, but my Ear Nose and Throat specialist told me that some pregnant women develop GERD and that it can sometimes come with the sensation of having something lodged in one's esophagus, like a large piece of food that can't be coughed up or something like that.  He also diagnosed me with "silent" reflux, which is just reflux that doesn't burn.

I never realized I was experiencing reflux until I visited the ENT due to chronic throat pain and he saw that some of the tissue in my esophagus was a bit inflamed and red, and it was an area that is typically affected by reflux.

Obviously, this could easily not being anything like what you have, lol.  You just never know unless you ask a doctor.  I'd recommend asking an ENT about it if it doesn't resolve itself soon, or becomes a recurring issue.

I have totally had this before too!  Not while pregnant, just normal, but I've felt the same sensation. It goes away after awhile and nothing I did to try to get rid of it sooner worked.  :(
