Hi! My name is Carrie, and DH and I have been ttc for a year now. I have PCOS and have been told by two different ObGyn's to see an RE for our problems. It's 100% out of pocket for us, so we can pretty much see anybody that we wish. If anybody has a recommendation for an RE in Houston or the surround area (we live in Sugar Land, but I work in the Med Center) I'd greatly appreciate it!
TIA!
Re: What RE's do you recommend???
I see Dr. Phelps-UTMB. I love him...very easy to talk to smaller office so I feel like I am not just "another number"
He is kinda far for you, he is in League City. Feel free to PM me if you want more info.
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013
PAIF/SAIF always welcome
We went to Dr. Leah Schenk at the Fertility Specialists in the Med Center. Loved her! She was so kind and totally put me at ease. I had a septate uterus and didn't have problems getting pregnant, just staying pregnant so my experience may be different than yours. But, she did my surgery and even kept me much longer under her care than she should have before 'graduating' to a regular OBGYN since she knew of my history of miscarriage.
HTH!
I use Dr. Griffith at this practice (I think he is only at the Willowbrook and Woodlands location). I can not say enough good things about this practice in general. The office staff is always wonderful to me. I went in thinking I'd have to fight them to get testing for my losses and help during my cycles while TTC and instead I was met with so much friendliness and helpfulness I was literally speechless!
Another vote for Dr Gill and HFI. I went to the Fondren location mostly (we did IVF), but also visited the Katy location for my post-IVF bloodwork and scans until I was released to my OB. They have a Sugarland office as well as a medical center one.
I saw pretty much every single doctor there at some point or another, and they're all really nice. (Britany, I saw Dr Griffith at the Fondren location once; I think they all go there, though, since they do procedures there and Willowbrook.)
Dr. Michael Heard at the Women's Specialist of Houston, in the Medical Center

He is super nice, and the staff is always considerate and helpful.
I used Dr Randall Dunn at this practice and really enjoyed his personality. However, I have 2 friends who used Dr Schenk and enjoyed her as well! It took us 2 1/2 years but we now have our lil miracle.
Good luck and best wishes on your journey to conceive..
This is who I saw, although I actually got pregnant on my own (insurance stopped paying for IF treatment) after we got my thyroid under control. I liked him a lot though and will go back if the next kiddo doesn't happen naturally.
Same here! Dylan is here thanks to Dr. Roach.
