Pregnant after IF

I now have "extreme morning sickness"

According to my dr. Yesterday I woke up at 3 am and threw up-which was weird since I hadn't actually thrown up up until that point. That continued pretty much non stop, and I ended up throwing up 8 times in 7 hours! It was terrible. I couldn't even drink water. I thought maybe I had the flu, but called the ob nurse and she said it was more likly "extreme morning sickness." So now I have to take zofran 3 times per day just to not puke! They had me come in this morning and gave me an iv of some fluids because I was so dehydrated. It was scary! I'm feeling better but I am not going back to work until tomorrow. I am just praying this zofran does it's job from now on!

  • Ugh - that sounds awful :( Zofran does a good job. Just make sure to rest and get your fluids in.

  • Ugh!  I am sooo sorry to hear that you're dealing with this...  I went through the same at 8w, and ended up in the ER.  The IV Zofran and IV liquids worked wonders for me.  The meltaway Zofran didn't help me at all, but I wasn't ever nauseous, I just constantly threw up.  My severe m/s ended around the 20w mark.

It is dreadful...  I hope you're able to get some relief soon!  Take care of yourself!

  • Oh yuck! That happened to me one day and I ended up having to go to the hospital for fluids. I couldn't even keep the Zofran down long enough for it to work! Hopefully it's just a fluke for you and doesn't happen again. Feel better!

  • Oh you poor thing!

The zofran should help. Just be sure and eat plenty of fiber as it will probably stop you up some.

I hope you feel better soon!
