u/s after anatomy scan?

Just curious, but does anyone know if we typically get another ultrasound after the anatomy scan? Maybe near the end to check the position of the baby?

I think that would only be if they can't feel the head while doing an internal check? I am not expecting one, and hoping there is no need for one.

I know at my OB's office this will be the last one I get.

Usually not. I have them at 28, 32 and 36w. My 24w appt is my first appt this pregnancy without an u/s!

I was told that I would only have another one if my OB orders it.

Yep. This is typical. There are several birth defects that do not present "symptoms/signs" until 27 weeks gestation (and, b/c I have a history of birth defect) we will be getting another one around 30 weeks.

I think I'm the anomaly on the board... But, since our A/S, I've had 2 u/s and have another scheduled for next week. 20w was to check my cervix, 22w (this week) was to check the cervix again and for a growth scan, and have one scheduled for next week due to a low fluid level with baby B. Baby B is also breech, although it's far too early if he'll stay that way.

I will have another one at 28w, 32w, and every week after that. I am at risk for preterm labor though so I don't think this is normal.

Usually, you'll just get two. With dd I ended up having a growth u/s around 35-36 weeks. I wasn't expecting it, but my OB wanted to see the position of the baby. (She was in some awkward transverse position).

I dont think it is common to have another u/s after the 20w but my OB did tell me today that they will most likely do one more between now and birth. She didnt say why and for some reason I forgot to ask.

Our ultrasound tech said she would see us one more time before the baby arrives...so I'm assuming that my OB's office does one routinely...

Starting at our anatomy scan, I have one every 4 weeks (24, 28, 32, and then as needed). But I am high risk and we did IVF, so we have them more often than normal.

My insurance only covers two unless it's high risk or they think something is wrong.
