Omg....

K slept for a whole 5 hours ....well 8 but he got up to eat at the 3 hour mark and went straight back to sleep and then woke up 5 hours later. This to me is accomplishment because for last two weeks its been every 2-3 hours.

I had dropped 2 pumpings at night because I need some sleep... so last night I ended up not pumping for 8 hours because usually I pump right after he eats at 1am but he didnt wake up til 445 am! That was painful! But so worth the extra sleep!

So Im just going to add an extra ten mins to this pumping for missing the other one.

Also Im quitting EP in 4 more weeks. I cant do it anymore. I feel so tied to this pump ...that I feel like Im constantly starring at a clock and worrying whether Im producing enough. Its like an obsession. I feel crazy!

There is also another reason I need to quit...because in order to fix my back they need to start me  on meds again. Its been really difficult for them to put me on anything because of the breastfeeding. I need to have my back better...I have to go back to work sometime!

Im talking to the pedi today about how to go about this... to slowly transition him to formula.

Ugh I hate the way formula smells...Ick!

Re: Omg....

  • Anyone who pumps worries if they're making enough! No matter how long you do (or don't) pump for, you've done your best for your baby. At least you will have given him 3 months of breastmilk.

I do agree, why can't formula smell nicer? For pete's sake, breastmilk doesn't stink so why should formula... Oh well, your baby won't be smelling it and it's still going to provide the nutrition your boy needs. And you will probably feel an amazing sense of freedom not having to pump every few hours.
